Brass Quintet in Eb Major, "Midwestern Fantasy," Op. 10 [FULL SCORE & PARTS]

$200.00

The inspiration behind this piece was to create a playful, reminiscent, and nostalgic reflection in the form of a celebratory chamber work. The subtitle Midwestern Fantasy refers to the composer's upbringing in Midwestern American culture, with each movement dedicated to a specific memory or mood associated with being raised in a small, rural Kansas township. The five scenes highlighted include a homecoming high school dance, taking advantage of the open fields in breath-taking moments of solitude, the playful innocence of children playing with their toys in the yard, a dreamy and intimate dance for a pair of lovers, and a celebration that takes place perhaps at a nearby fairgrounds on a hot, summer's night as the dark sky is lit by carnival rides, and the air is filled with the sounds of laughter and merriment.
